Jubilants - Fiasco

After the success of their first two singles (which both reached staggering heights on Hype Machine), Sydney's Jubilants are back with another indie pop treasure. Australia has become synonymous with the genre in recent times, but the sheer vibrancy of 'Antics' and 'Spain' have helped the four-piece carve out their own little niche in the overflowing talent pool.

'Fiasco' contains all the ingredients they need to have another hit on their hands. The combination of tropical themed percussion, towering guitar riffs, and pulsating synth arrangements have served (fellow Australian) bands like Last Dinosaurs well in recent times, and I can see no reason why these guys shouldn't eventually be aiming for a similar trajectory.

Destiny's Child - Say My Name (Cyril Hahn Remix)

Cyril Hahn, who hails from Switzerland but currently works out of Vancouver, has graced us with a smart and banging reworking of a kitschy classic in his remix of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name”. This song has more or less been on loop in my brain for the past few weeks. The track does an enormously successful job dancing a fine line between earnest ass-shaking remixery and totally irreverent irony.

From its opening cut, Hahn plays coy with the remix. The original track isn’t immediately recognizable if you’re not listening for it, and the pulsing beat draws you in from the start. The downtempo bassline also creates a sultry soundscape that begs the listener to get funky.

The Weeknd - Enemy

The Weeknd masters the art of seduction…without a word on his new song “Enemy,” which he released for his fans online.

“I’d rather be your enemy than any friend you think I would be,” sings the Toronto crooner. “I’m just tryna take you home without a word/ I’m just tryna kiss your neck without a word/ I’m just tryna lay you down without a word.”

The dark, piano-driven cut will not appear on his three-disc debut Trilogy, which contains his mixtape material along with the new tracks “Twenty Eight,” “Valerie,” and “Till Dawn (Here Comes the Sun).”

Disclosure feat. Sam - Latch

UK's electronic music duo Disclosure just released the sexy new video for their Sam Smith-assisted amazing single "Latch". The video perfectly matches the storyline of the song, starting off with a telling elevator scene in which the thrill of wanting another person is evident. It seems that the brother duo took Sam's vocals to heart when creating the video, as there's a lot of literal latching and lip-locking throughout the video. No complaints here, as the infectious single was already more than enough to keep me interested. Not to mention the good-looking cast, captivating visual effects and Disclosure's trademark face drawings that become more visible throughout the video. "Latch" is Disclosure's first release since they signed with PMP Records, the label that brought you Jessie Ware's debut album.

Northeast Party House - Stand Tall

Melbourne’s Northeast Party House released their new single 'Stand Tall' last month, and i'm rating it highly. They're currently finishing up a national tour, which included a stop at Bigsound Live and a support slot for Mystery Jet's Melbourne show.

The five-piece are already renowned for their wild live shows and upbeat indie rock (see previous single 'Pascal Cavalier' below), but they've taken a serious turn on their new track. Heavier in both sound and theme (see the single's accompanying video above), it's a good indication that they’re no one-trick pony.

Northeast Party House have an album scheduled for release in 2013 (which will include both singles), and with tracks like this on it, it's bound to be one to look forward to.

Zedd Ft. Ellie Goulding - Fall Into The Sky (Original Mix)

Glass Animals - Cocoa Hooves

Described as "poly-pop" by Pitchfork, Glass Animals' sound is pretty hard to define. One thing’s for certain: the track is undeniably smooth.

Released sometime last month on an EP titled Leaflings (via Kaya Kaya Records), the standout element for me is definitely the futuristic bass line. Seriously, it makes me want to run out and grab new speakers with a lower depth spectrum.

Anyway, the reason this one caught my attention today is that they've officially released a music video to go along with the track. Without further ado, here it is…

Part I

Part II

Kimbra - Two Way Street (Aeroplane Remix)

Slated to be released as part of an upcoming album of Kimbra remixes, this rendition of “Two Way Street” actually retains some of the elements that made Aeroplane’s “I Crave Paris (Ft. Friendly Fires & Flight Facilities)” so damned amazing. Clearly that’s a good thing, as Kimbra Lee Johnson’s vocals intertwine incredibly well with the harmony and rhythm.

Fingers crossed that with the album Vows now more than a year old, each remix artist featured new release will have had enough to time to perfect their version the same way Aeroplane has.

HAIM - Forever (The Knocks Remix)

Sultan & Ned Shepard - Walls (3LAU Vocal Edit)

David Guetta Feat. Sia & Flo Rida - Wild Ones (Acapella)
Usher - Numb (Acapella)

The Weeknd - Rolling Stone (Official Video)

The Weeknd remains oh so mysterious considering the amount of exposure he's received since he burst on to the scene not too long ago. And now, he's unleashed a brand new video for the track "Rolling Stone". He recently signed with Universal and will be dropping his Trilogy album on November 13. The album will consist of his first three mixtapes and will also include a few bonus tracks. Hopefully this video, and the various other upcoming small drops, will hold everyone over until the album release. Enjoy.

Wiz Khalifa ft. The Weeknd - Remember You

Wiz Khalifa and The Weeknd are doing their Usher / Ludacris thang here, and it’s pretty solid considering the pedestrian "C’mon groupie show me what you got" subject matter.

The Taylor Gang captain dropped a video for his the Weeknd duet "Remember You,"the latest single from Wiz's December 4 LP O.N.I.F.C. The Ryan Hope-directed, anecdotal clip doesn't feature the Weeknd at all, and instead of focusing on performance shots, it weaves a trippy narrative that toes the line between seductive and downright scary.

The visual tale begins in a diner, where an innocent-yet-curious waitress locks eyes with vamped-out temptress with blood-red lips, long dark hair and an even darker gaze. "She's about to earn some bragging rights/ I'm about to give it up like I've been holding back all night," the Weeknd sings as the two lovers move from the diner to a dark alley to exchange heavy kisses and an erotic embrace.

From there they find themselves at a sexy, but freakish house party where women gyrate to the music and one (dressed in black leather) literally bends over backward at the sight of the waitress heroine. Our leading lady is clearly turned on by the forbidden lifestyle as her head lays on a swivel surviving the party and her gothic surroundings.

The video beats on for a shade more than two minutes before we even get our first glimpse of Wiz, who exhibits his star power, rapping while getting fitted for clothes. That's right: The Taylor has a tailor, who measures his tall and lanky frame, almost unaware of the heat that Khalifa is spitting. "N---as after fame, I just have to laugh/ N---as after fame, I'm just after cash," he rhymes of his lifestyle with a slow and calculated flow.

It's definitely not your average rap video, and a far cry from Wiz's last shot, the performance-heavy "It's Nothin'."The focus here is clearly the cautionary tale of living life too fast. By the end of the clip, things begin to spiral out of control as the waitress stumbles around the party, gripping the walls trying to find a balance before she finds a spot on a bed to cry. As the mascara runs down her face the Weeknd sings, "All I ask of you is try to earn my memory/ Make me remember you, like you remember me."

Yep, pretty unforgettable.
